TacTile is a third-generation multi-touch surface, using frustrated internal reflection (FTIR) with pulsed background illumination (PBI) and a custom designed surface coating, to create an ultra-sensitive, highly responsive, high-resolution, pressure-sensing, multi-touch table. The active surface provides HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) resolution and multi-camera tracked touch input of over 100 concurrent touch events. TacTile utilizes a pair of multi-core PCs, sharing the tracking, simulation, data synthesis and visualization workload.
